Build your athletic strength, range of motion, and mobility through full-body exercises that focus on functional movement. While this class is geared toward runners, triathletes, and endurance sport enthusiasts, all are welcome and will benefit from this mobility training. Learn how to balance your body and prevent injury as we re-train and maintain movement as we were designed.

Attention triathletes and open water swimmers! Technical Swim is back! Learn and practice proper freestyle technique while being coached through a workout of drills that will improve the swim leg of your next upcoming competition. This is not your typical swim lesson or Masters Swimming workout, but rather a mix of the two. Basic proficiency of the freestyle stroke is required, but beginners and advanced swimmers alike will benefit from this class.
Cost is only $10 drop-in each week: cheaper than most aquatic center guest passes!

The meeting will take place at the Steen Conference room - located inside the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex across from the Calvin Kinesiology Department offices.
The format for the evening will include:
*A 6:30-6:45 informal meet-and-greet and one-on-one chats.
*A 6:45-7:15 group introduction about the triathlon program, training philosophies and group questions.
*7:15-7:30 one-on-one follow-up chats.
The event is open to anyone looking to learn more about Calvin's ground-breaking women's triathlon program (current Calvin students, high school students and their parents wanting to learn more about the program, media, and anyone curious to see what the sport of triathlon is all about).

Workout for the heart, mind, body, and soul!
I am super excited to offer this training! I strongly believe that this class will be different from what most of you have ever done before as it encompasses all components of fitness while improving functional movement AND delving in to issues of the heart and mind (setting goals, proper nutrition, overcoming negative thought patterns, etc).
This hour long class will focus on mobility and movement. Yes, there will be sweat, some muscle burn through body weight and suspension exercises, and higher heart rates involved, as well as yoga- and pilates-inspired training, meditation, and visualization.
This is training that I currently practice myself twice/week, and I feel better than I ever have before. I wish I was more in tune to this type of workout when I was competing as a triathlete as I believe this is the missing link in most athletes' fitness.
You only need to bring yourself, comfy clothes you can workout in, some hydration, and a yoga mat (if you have one... not necessary).
This class is FREE! Drop in with no commitment.
